Cardi B Appears In Court As $5m ‘Raunchy’ Cover Art Trial Begins
This week, Cardi B is back in court as her attorneys try to show that she is not to blame for the shame a man alleges he experienced as a result of listening to one of her mixtapes. Body art enthusiast and model Kevin Brophy, Jr. , the plaintiff in this lawsuit, alleges that a picture of his back tattoo was taken for the 2016 cover of Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1 . In the disputed piece of art, Cardi is seated in the back of a limousine while a male model is kneeling in front of her and appears to be engaging in oral sex. In their opening arguments, the attorneys for both sides, according to Rolling Stone , agreed on how a picture resembling Brophy’s tattoo ended up on the cover. The cover’s graphic designer chose to swap out the model’s tattoos with a different design after the initial photo shoot.
