D.J. White Announces Retirement
D.J. White, who was drafted 29th overall by the Detroit Pistons in 2008, has announced his retirement from the NBA. In an Instagram post, White reflected on his 12-year career, writing: “You are never ready for it to be over, but I’m ready for what’s next.” D.J. White spent the first four years of his career with the Pistons, before being traded to the Charlotte Bobcats in 2012. He also had stints with the Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns, and Indiana Pacers. In total, White appeared in 405 NBA games (35 starts), averaging 5.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. While D.J. White may not have had the longest or most successful NBA career, he can still be proud of what he accomplished. Overcoming various injuries and setbacks, he managed to stick around in the league for over a decade. And for that, he deserves a lot of credit.
