Kanye West Sued For $110k After Allegedly Stiffing Yeezy Photographer

Kanye West’s number of troubles continues to grow. The Chicago producer and rapper is now being ordered to pay $110,000 for the unpaid photo bill.

Katelyn Mooney, a Brooklyn-based creative director she has filed a suit with Ye’s Yeezy Inc. after she was not paid for a photo shoot that was last minute earlier in the month of September.

According to a suit filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday (December 7), Mooney was contacted by Kanye West’s team. They asked him to photograph his designer sunglasses SHDZ to promote during New York Fashion Week.

The shooting is believed to have occurred on the 13th of September 2022. Mooney presented all of the digital images the next the next day (September 14, 2022).).

Ye and Mooney reported to have discussed the essential conditions of their agreement via text. in the lawsuit, they “confirmed that Ms. Mooney would be retained for a fee of One Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars ($110,000).”

The report also stated that “Ms. Mooney was to be accountable for all aspects of the photo shoot including but not only hiring models as well as reserving studio spaces as well as sourcing lighting food, catering, pre-production as well as post-production.”

The lawsuit claims that “Yeezy had no concerns with Ms. Mooney’s work or the final delivered product.” After two weeks of delivering Kanye the last images, Mooney turned in her W9 and a bill for $110,000.

According to the lawsuit, Mooney has only received $15,000 from Kanye West, and as a result, her mother of three is struggling financially “due to Yeezy’s inability to timely pay her.”

Mooney’s attorney Andrew Gerber continued, “To pay for her rent and other expenses, Mooney has had to max up her credit cards and take out a sizable loan.”

Mooney isn’t even the only person Kanye claims to owe money. This week, it was revealed that the Yeezy clothing company is owed a massive six-figure cheque to the state of California in taxes that have not been paid in the past two years.

As per NBCNews, the string of state tax lien notices indicate how Yeezy Apparel owes California over $600,000 of tax owed. Yeezy was reported to have received letters in February 2021, July 2021 and September.

Expert in taxation and USC faculty member Edward McCaffery said: “Multiple California tax liens that add up to $600,000is definitely a sign of extreme incompetence, or cash issues. It’s a sort of Amber Alert for the financial well-being of the business.”

In other news this season, Kanye West was in court for $4.5 million by a Former business director as well as a manufacturing company for $7 million , and an online rental service for $400,000. Even Smokepurpp has claimed Kanye owed him $9 million.

However, Kanye West’s billionaire status and net worth was slashed in the month of October after his anti-Semitic remarks, which led to him losing lucrative deals with brands like that of adidas, Gap, Balenciaga, Def Jam and other brands.
