Drake Declares Tupac is His Most Listed to 2022’s Top Artists


Drake is a huge Tupac fan. He was more attentive to his music the artist in 2022 than other artists according to Drake’s Spotify Wrapped.

It’s the time that everyone posts their annual recaps via streaming platforms and Drake is no exception.

The timelines on social media are filled with music enthusiasts posting their 2022 reviews and sharing various statistics regarding their preferences in listening throughout the past year. The Hip-Hop superstar also took to Instagram Stories to share his favorite artists of the year. Instagram Story to share the artists he’s enjoyed the most this year.

Based on Spotify Wrapped, Tupac is Drake’s number-one artist for 2022. The fact is that not only did Drizzy listen for 246 minutes to Tupac and ‘Pac’, but he also ranks in the top 7 percent of Tupac followers on the streaming platform.

Although Drake is a massive admirer of the Tupac rapper, he needed to clarify a line of the 2009 album “Fear,” after confessing that he was not saddened by the death of the legendary rapper. However, the Toronto native insisted that he was not slammed by Tupac. Instead, he was speaking about the lack of influence he had on the young boy he was.

“I never wept when ‘Pac’ passed away,” he says in the song. “But I’m likely to cry when Hov is dead.”

“A majority of people do not understand the significance behind that phrase,” he said in an interview. “It’s not that I don’t like West Coast Hip-Hop or that I don’t have a love for ‘Pac, at the age of 22, however, that line was meant to demonstrate how I’m new to Hip-Hop. I was just 9 when the event Tupac’s death happened and it didn’t have any effect on me.”

Drake Will Like to be More Like Tupac

However, Drake paid tribute to Tupac by saying that he would like that he had more of his style.

“If there were a person I’d like to be a bit more like, it’d be ‘Pac’,” Drizzy said to the TheBoombox. “I believe that more than anything in addition to the quality of his work, which is amazing, I believe that he drove people away with his persona and manner in which he portrayed himself. He was an open-minded person and did not seem to worry about anything, he simply did what he wanted to do. I would love to add a bit more ‘Pac’ to my character. I’m trying to improve it.”
