Travis Scott To Executive Produce Dj Screw Biopic

Travis Scott has been a longtime fan and inspiration of the late DJ Screw. Now La Flame has the chance to shape the legacy of the Screwed Up Click leader as Scott is an executive producer for Screw’s forthcoming biopic.

Wednesday, November 16th, marks 22 years since the death of DJ Screw. According to Deadline, Scott was given an executive producer position alongside Isaac Bowman in the biopic about the Houston Hip Hop dignitary. It will be directed by Maia Eyre, Vice President at Columbia Pictures.

“Continuing the legacy my brother left is important… It has been an exciting process.” Screw’s sister Michelle Wheeler stated in a statement that she was “amazed” at the prospect of making a movie.

Over the years, nearly a dozen film producers and directors have approached us, but this was the first time I felt completely at ease. Travis and Sony are appreciated for accompanying us on this journey and preserving my brother Screw’s legacy.

Scott’s participation in the biopic could have been destiny after Yowman met Trav and the Cactus Jack crew at an office in Los Angeles, where they talked for more than an hour about the pioneer’s film project.

Yowman stated that Screw and Screw were a mutual love, and that he assured me of his support. “We were both raised in Mo. This makes it even more exciting to have him as a part of the City.

“I am appreciative of Charles and Michelle’s support. There is a vast amount of knowledge, making it hard to know everything. My ability to get unbiased opinions from legends like Bun B, D-Reck, and Lil’ Keke has aided me in navigating this process.

It is still unclear when the Screw biopic might arrive. Travis Scott paid tribute to Screw and other Houston rappers in standout, “R.I.P.” In 2018, Screw

As the news became more devastating, more tributes were sent from Scott, Drake and Future.

Travis Scott, who was part of Takeoff’s Astroworld project, shared a black-and white photo of himself and the rapper on his Instagram Stories with the caption “Forever, the space cadet. Forever, the rocket the humblest the illest 4ever Take.”
