Nicki Minaj Gives Update On Her New Album

Nicki Minaj has provided fans with a much-needed update on her upcoming Fifth studio album one that she’s been teasing for quite a time.
Talking to City Girls rapper JT for i-D, the frontwoman of the Barbz has revealed that her upcoming album will be a return to the Hip Hop roots. According to Nicki she’s in a good position right now and believes that her mindset will put her in a good position to release her finest music.
“I feel like whenever I’m happy, I deliver the best music,” Nicki spoke about what’s coming on the forthcoming album. “And in order for me to deliver the best music for my album – which is coming out soon – I have to tap back into the essence of Hip Hop.”
The conversation also included Nicki said that she’s working on her sixth studio album, which is currently on her list of priorities offering fans hope that it will be released very soon. Her last solo album came out with the release of 2018’s Queen which was released at the No. 2. Billboard 200 with 185,000 album-equivalent units out of which 78,000 came directly from album sales.
As she aims to bring the spirit in Hip Hop back into her music, Nicki wants to watch her younger peers spit up their own rhymes when they’re in the same conversation as JT and I-D. According to Nicki she has dropped her own track “Queen Mix” to her smash hit song “Super Freaky Girl” -with Katie Got Bandz, Maliibu Miitch, BIA and Akbar V. Just to listen to women rappers.
“I wanna hear girls rap again. Just perform. When I performed the BET Cypher years ago, I deliberately didn’t wear any revealing clothing,” Nicki said. “I had a sweatshirt on. Even although we were all crazy girls during the track, and were having fun, we really did spit.”
Additionally, Nicki praised fellow rap legend Foxy Brown during her i-D interview and named her one of her greatest Rap inspirations. Nicki Minaj, the “Moment 4 Life” star was asked to list the artists that have had a significant influence upon her own rap style most and Foxy has been the most influential.
“Foxy Brown. I may sometimes sound like that singer.” Nicki said. “I could listen to her music all day long. The fact that she came from Trinidad was awe-inspiring to me because I had no idea that an artist could come from my home country.
She said: “She’s so precise with her delivery and precise. And I love the clarity in rap.”
