Kendrick Lamar To Headline 2023 Primavera Sound Festivals

Kendrick Lamar will serve as one of the headliners for the next Primavera Sound Festival alongside his cousin Baby Keem.

The pgLang duo will perform in conjunction with Primavera Sound 2023’s double weekend performance, with their shows scheduled to take place on June 4 at Parc Del Forum in Barcelona and June 9 in Madrid’s Arganda Del Rey.

Other appearances by rap artists will include NxWorries and Pusha T, who will be performing on June 1 at Barcelona as well as June 8, in Madrid. Other headliners include Depeche Mode, Blur, and Halsey.

Most recently, the Primavera Sound festival was held within South America earlier this month and was noteworthy because it brought Travis Scott back to the stage after the Astroworld tragedy in November last year that resulted in the deaths of 10 people and hundreds of injured.

A different Primavera Performance at the Sound Festival during the summer was also a big news item following the incident in which Playboi Carti took his guitar and then threw the guy on the floor. It’s not clear if the guitarist played on however the crowd was awestruck nonetheless.

Kung Fu Kenny’s spot at the festival is coming as he’s currently on the road to launch his album entitled Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. This is the European tour, which started in October, K. Dot will play two final performances at Auckland, New Zealand on the 16th and 17th of December before 2022’s release.

Kendrick has also recently marked the 10th anniversary of his iconic second album “good kid,” m.A.A.d city. Kendrick’s sophomore effort debuted at No. 2 . on the Billboard 200, selling 242,000 copies within its first week. The RIAA has certified the album to triple platinum, and it earned Kendrick seven nominations for the 56th annual Grammy Awards.

“Man there’s so much to talk about this album. Everyone put their heart into it. GKMC became the first step. We established ourselves in Hip Hop and music in general through that album. I’m eternally grateful to have contributed to the album,” TDE President Terrence “Punch” Henderson posted via Twitter on October 1st.

A fan asked him about his top memory of making the album, Punch replied: “Can’t come up with a preferred. One memory is Kdot making the hook on madd city just hours before the mastering. I think he was actually required to record the hook since it was not mastered by MixedByAli was left to master it already. The song had one verse in the beginning.”
