“I mean I was really taken aback because I didn’t even know if Eminem was a fan,” Havoc said to the during the BET Hip Hop Awards red carpet. “So to discover that Eminem was a fan, I realized that he was a fan, and then the cha-ching noise came into my head. It was the reason I bought this Fendi shirt.”
Eminem was the first to announce the re-release via the release of a special pop-up concert that included his mom’s spaghetti restaurant. This New York City pop-up wrapped the following the 20th of November (November 20) after 10 days in the Shopify space located in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood.
Eminem first revealed plans for the Mom’s Spaghetti restaurant in 2017 and the idea finally was a reality when Em opened the restaurant’s first brick-and mortar store within Detroit in 2021.. The menu includes $9 boxes of pasta (or 12 dollars with meatballs) as well as the $11 “s’ghetti” sandwiches, and 14 cartons of spaghetti topped with meatballs made from vegan.
The restaurant’s name is derived from Eminem’s iconic smash “Lose Yourself,” which was inspired by the classic battle rap film, which premiered in theaters on the 8th of November 2002.
“Lose Yourself” would go to become the first rap tune to be awarded Best Original Song at the Oscars in 2003. The song would later win Best Rap Song and Best Male Rap Solo Performance at the 2004 Grammy Awards and earn Slim Shady his first position at No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
