Dua Lipa Disputes Performing at Opening Ceremony of World Cup

According to Dua Lipa, she won’t be singing at the World Cup after all.

The singer denied Sunday rumors that she would perform at the opening ceremony in Qatar in a few weeks. This event is typically quite large and attracts celebrities from around the world. Shakira, J. Lo, Pitbull, the Black Eyed Peas, and other artists have done it in the past.

Many people believed that DL was going to be the next artist, among other artists who have been predicted, but she is now claiming that it won’t be occurring due to, reportedly, violations of human rights.

Dua claims, “There is a lot of rumors that I will perform during the World Cup opening ceremony in Qatar. I won’t be performing, and I’ve never agreed to anything through bargaining.” She continues, “I look forward to visiting Qatar once it has kept every promise it made regarding human rights when it was awarded the right to host the World Cup.”

If you’re not aware, Qatar is renowned for mistreating its women and LGBT people, frequently through legal sanctions. Many believe the nation has often failed to keep its commitments to look into particular issues and improve its record.

As for where the idea of Dua performing even came from, we found the origin. Recently, it was confirmed on Twitter by the World Music Awards account, along with a number of other artists they said would be playing at the opening ceremony. They appeared to be rather confident in themselves, yet no dependable mainstream media outlet reported the story.

In addition to J Balvin, BTS, and Bollywood sensation Nora Fatehi, they said that Shakira and BEP will be making a comeback. Nora is a performer, but she doesn’t get the party started. BTS’s Jung Kook announced on Friday that he would perform during the opening ceremony; as of yet, he is the only official act.

The other suspected performers have all remained silent, and FIFA has published a definitive list of the performers for the tournament after the opening ceremony. The tweet was later removed by WMA.

Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, Warren G  and more will be on touring in the month of December to perform a tour on time for the Christmas season . The Doggfather took to his Instagram page to announce the Holidaze of Blaze tour with an Instagram post that showcased the flyer which features Snoop and T-Pain , who is posing with marijuana plants. According to the information on the flyer Warren G will serve as an extra act in the tour alongside  Ying Yang Twins and Justin Champagne .
