The Buffalo Bills walked away with an important victory on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions, but they also experienced a devastating blow in the form of star pass rusher Von Miller went down with an injury to his knee. Fortunately, his ACL remains in good shape, but it’s clear Miller will be out for a while since he’s already been ruled out of the game on Thursday against The New England Patriots.

On Friday Head coach Sean McDermott broke his silence about Von’s injury and called for a “next-man-up” mentality.

In a video interview with the Bills, McDermott stated, “Yeah, Von will not play this week, and we’ll just see where it goes from there.”

McDermott said, “He’s a future Hall of Famer for a reason. “We, therefore, need to advance this week. The task must be carried out by the person or people who are accountable for assuming the role and accepting the responsibility, and that is how it operates.”

Miller suffers from a lateral tear. Miller will likely require surgery following the start of the season. It’s not a question that it is likely that the Bills defense will suffer from his absence, because the fact is that he’s an absolute game-changer. He is credited with 21 tackles as well as eight sacks for 2022, which makes his presence evident for Buffalo each and every day.

However, as McDermott stated McDermott, the Bills should just continue to attempt to win a few football games. There’s no specific timeframe of when Miller will return It’s all down to how he reacts to rehabilitation. After the game against New England, Buffalo takes on the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. They are a tough team and their pass defense is sure to be tested even without Miller.
