50 Cent Shares His Thoughts On Whether Hip-hop Is Getting More Violent

50 Cent has expressed his views about the current state of Hip Hop and whether he believes it’s far more brutal than it’s been before.

The G-Unit businessman recently debuted the premiere season of his Hip Hop Homicides series on WeTV which investigates a string of murders and homicides that been a constant problem for Hip Hop over the last few times such as Nipsey Hussle, and Pop Smoke.

While chatting with the host Van Lathan, 50 debated whether Hip Hop has become more violent in the past and explained that even though 50 believes that his “energy” has remained the same throughout the community, however, he believes that social media has changed the game.

The actor says on the show, “I think it’s the same vibe but we’re in a new period so it looks different. “Everyone will be able to see at the camera as it happens. If Nipsey is murdered, it will be the first time in their lives that they see a murder.

“Because that of the internet, everybody’s in right now. Because kids in middle America are pressing the”fucking” button at the violence because they’re in a wild lifestyle in comparison to the conservative lifestyle they’re enjoying.”

The remaining investigational series created by Mona Scott-Young is expected to take an in-depth look into the sudden deaths of rap artists such as the XXXTENTACION, King Von, Chinx and Soulja Slim, as well as others.

In a statement on the show, 50 said, “G-Unit Film and Television has grown by delivering true tales. “Non-scripted premium programming will be the key area of attention as I develop my present programming and increase my programming. Things that have sustained damage are popular in hip hop. This series will shed light on the artists who have failed to persevere in the face of adversity.”

50 Cent became famously Hip Hop infamy after a near-fatal accident where he was wounded nine times over the course of 2000. The bullets missed major arteries by just inches 50 Cent escaped and the story was later an integral part of his worldwide fame.

Then, 50 honored The late Takeoff, who was murdered on November 1 by shootings in Houston in one of his performances at Seinajoki, Finland.

Much like he did in an concert in Sweden after Coolio’s death during September. 50 Cent honored the deceased Migos the lyricist by displaying his picture on the stage while Migos “Bad and Boujee” hit was heard through the speakers of the venue.

“I paid tribute to Takeoff last night in Finland it was lit,” 50 tweeted on Wednesday (November 2). “GLG GreenLightGang tour let’s get it!”
