Eminem’s ‘Godzilla’ Joins Spotify Billion Streams Club

Eminem has returned to Spotify’s Billions Club, this time for his track 2020 “Godzilla.”

The Juice WRLD-assisted track had a billion streams through the service’s streaming platform this Tuesday (October 10, 2010) this is the Detroit rapper’s sixth single to exceed this milestone.

The latest feat of Eminem comes just following the Rihanna collaboration “Love The Way You Lie” which reached the mark in July. This came after “The Real Slim Shady” surpassed 1 million streams in June. “Without Me” hit the milestone in January.

“Godzilla” is also the late Juice’s fourth song by WRLD to be admitted to the Billions Club, following “Lucid Dreams,” “All Girls are the Same” and “Robbery.“

The Music To Be Murdered single was special due to the fact that Eminem has reportedly broken the record for the fastest rap verse, when the track was released.

Based on Genius it beat “Rap God” and his track in Nicki Minaj’s “Majesty.” On the track, Eminem managed to spit around 224 words, which equals a total of 300 words. This is approximate of 10.65 seconds of syllables which is 7.23 words per second.

Eminem recently wrote a lengthy opinion piece for the magazine XXL, in which Eminem reflected on of the lows and highs in his career.

“All I ever really wanted to do was to be a respected MC,” the legendary rap star said. “To make enough money to live to not need to be working a regular job. This is a part of my competitive nature and I’m not sure when it will be gone, if ever. It’s my most powerful weapon in combination with the lyrical.”

Eminem has given a number of thoughtful interviews like these since his most recent best-hits compilation Curtain Call 2. The compilation included a selection of songs from the Relapse days of 2009 all the way up to 2020’s Music To be Murdered by. “Godzilla” was included in the compilation.
