Drake & Nba Youngboy Cement Hip Hop’s Dominance As Most Streamed Artists Of 2022
Drake along with NBA YoungBoy were named as the top two streaming artists of any genre through 2022.
As per the HitsDailyDouble YoungBoy, HitsDailyDouble along with the six God have put together the highest amount of streams in America from September to September with more than 12 billion in total.
Drake is the leader being the sole artist to boast more than 6.7 billion streams. YB is the only artist with more than five billion. They are ahead of the music giants like Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny and The Weeknd to complete the top Five.
In the Top 10, Hip Hop is well represented due of the passing Juice WrLD who ranked No. 6. Kanye West remains steady, and securing the number. 8 position, alongside Future and Lil Durk close behind.
Although Drake has released an album in the past, NBA YoungBoy is set to release 10 mixtapes by 2022 is up. He revealed on Sunday (October 16) that he has his sixth project in the works for release in time for an upcoming debut.
Ma’I Got a Family will include thirteen to 17 brand new songs, and is expected to be released “this week,” although the exact date of release is yet to be announced.
The cover art of the mixtape reflects the theme of family in that it features NBA YoungBoy taking a selfie in front of the camera with his wife Jazlyn Mychelle, and their two kids — the youngest of which is born on September in their home.
In a post that followed YoungBoy Never Broke Once more hints at his 10-project goal. “Fun challenge of 10 tapes 1 year? What’s the deal?” took a screenshot of the iPhone Note, which he wrote: “I’m finna be on 6 do you think I’ll achieve it?”
YoungBoy has the highest number of entries with 29 songs to the Billboard Hot 100 in 2022.
In the case of Drake who was a fan favorite, he surprised his followers with his house-turn on “Honestly, Nevermind” earlier in the month of June. Don’t be expecting to see his name mentioned in the 2023 Grammy Awards after he did not submit any of his new songs to be considered.
