A documentary about the notorious crime family is coming to STARZ, indicating that 50 Cent’s BMF programming isn’t going anywhere.

The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast, which will air on October 23, was announced by the network on Monday, October 3.

The upcoming documentary, a companion piece to the STARZ blockbuster series Black Mafia Family, often known as BMF, is executive produced by 50 Cent. It was first billed as an eight-episode docuseries when it was first revealed last November. It seems to have been streamlined into a single film, though.

In a statement at the time, 50 added, “The docuseries will offer an inside look at multiple viewpoints from all of those involved, BMF – Blowing Money Fast.

According to Jeffrey Hirsch, President, and CEO of STARZ, “the success of BMF reflects a sustained surge in fan demand and interest in the narrative of the Flenory brothers.” We are eager to delve more into the Black Mafia Family universe with this new project with Curtis, Shan, and the G-Unit and Jigsaw teams.

Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, brothers, founded BMF in Southwest Detroit in 1985. By 2000, BMF had grown to become one of the largest drug trafficking organizations in the country, with over $270 million in drug proceeds collected by the time Meech and T were apprehended in 2005.

When it debuted on STARZ at the end of 2021, the scripted BMF series was a big success. Its launch set a number of records for the network, breaking the previous year’s record for the most popular premiere on the STARZ app across all of its programming.

After the first season’s first episode aired, the show was given a second season, which will begin somewhere in January 2023.

Despite the fact that 50 Cent has enjoyed remarkable success with STARZ, the G-Unit tycoon revealed in September that his lucrative contract with the network was coming to an end.

The Queens, New York legend boasted on Instagram about the 25 TV shows he’s produced, and he is determined to use his skills outside of the STARZ empire he’s established.

He shouted out to BET and announced that he had won Hustler of the Year as he counted his winnings. “No one from the music scene has achieved success in TV production. I currently have 25 shows, and I have landed several significant TV-unrelated deals. Tomorrow is my last day working for STARZ.

The second season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, a continuation of 50 Cent’s Power universe, is now airing on STARZ.

The trailer for 50 Cent’s upcoming television project, which looks at the murders of several well-known rappers, was just released.

On November 3 at 9 p.m. ET, Hip Hop Homicides will make its television debut on We TV, part of the AMC Network. In addition to Mona Scott-Young, 50 is on board to produce the show, and journalist and podcaster Van Lathan will serve as the host.

The documentary series will delve deeply into the sudden demises of rap icons including XXXTENTACION, King Von, Chinx, and Soulja Slim.
