2022 NFL Trade-Block Big Board Entering Week 5

We’re less than one month away from the NFL’s deadline for trades, and we’ll likely see the rumor mill soon turning.
A variety of teams are in the need of reinforcements. We’ve seen players such as Sterling Shepard (ACL) and Trey Lance (ankle) lost for the entire season. Week 4 saw another set of injuries, due to players from the Denver Broncos losing Javonte Williams to a torn ACL, and Randy Gregory to a knee injury.
The New York Giants watched Daniel Jones (ankle) and Tyrod Taylor (concussion) both fall and leave the team without a quarterback who is healthy to complete the game.
We’re also starting to see teams get left out of playoff contention and this will eventually result in some major names getting on the trading block.
From now to the deadline for trades, We’ll keep you updated each week with the most likely trade targets, based on factors like contract conditions, the anticipated role of players, team performance, and roster depth, as well as any other relevant news about trades.
We’ll also consider real-world landing points depending on factors such as the needs of teams, their positional importance and where teams sit in the rankings.
The Select Process
In order to create our list of the Top 10 we’ve gathered 15 names that are likely to get on the trade block or be the top trade targets, according to the above criteria.
This week: Houston Texans linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill. He’s an excellent starter but will be an unrestricted free-agent in 2023. The 0-3-1 Texans however, are already facing a loss season.
In exchange for the player who’s 28 is a good idea and makes sense in the event that Houston believes that it could lose him to free-agents in the future.
We’ve also pulled Carolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold from the list). Sources informed the ESPN’s Adam Schefter that it is “still going to take some time” prior to when Darnold (ankle) has been declared fully prepared to be back from his injured reserve.
There’s a chance Darnold isn’t healthy enough to trade him before the deadline.
When we identified the most effective 15 athletes, we then ranked the players based on their level of talent in relation to their positional value, as well as their probability of getting dealt. The honorable mentions this week in order in no particular order are:
Austin Hooper, TE, Tennessee Titans
Michael Schofield, G, Chicago Bears
Daron Payne DT, Washington Commanders
Foster Moreau, TE, Las Vegas Raiders
Deion Jones LB, Atlanta Falcons
Nelson Agholor, WR, New England Patriots
If the 3-3 New England Patriots believe they can be back in the playoff race, however, they might not be looking to move forward with wide receiver Nelson Agholor. While he’s not the most reliable option for receiving, however, he has played a significant role in recent weeks.
In Week 2 of the season, Agholor caught six passes that netted him 110 yards and one touchdown. He also caught three passes in Week 4. was able to catch three passes for 46 yards.
The issue is that, when quarterbacks Mac Jones (ankle) and Brian Hoyer (concussion) both injured, getting them back into the playoff race could be challenging. There was some speculation about trades for Agholor prior to the start of the season, in the words of Pro Football Focus’ Doug Kyed in addition, New England could save $9.9 million by trading Agholor.
The Indianapolis Colts continue to top our list of teams that need receivers. Michael Pittman Jr. is the only Colt who has more than 200 yards of receiving in four games. Agholor’s ability to play deep threats could be a an important aspect to the passing game.
The Colts also have $7.7 million of cap space, which means they won’t need to clear lots of space to include Agholor.
There’s a chance that the Green Bay Packers may also consider looking at Agholor with their fresh-look receiving team is in the process of being developed.
