Young Guru Shares Proof Of Jay-z Recording ‘god Did’ Verse In One Take

Young Guru has provided evidence that proves JAY-Z actually penned his featured verse on DJ Khaled‘s Billboard chart-topping album track “GOD DID” in one performance.
The following Sunday (September 4.), Guru shared a post on Instagram showing a slideshow featuring two images from the session where he recorded HOV’s lyrics and both of them show an audio recording from the whole session.
In the long caption of the post, JAY-Z’s veteran engineer did not just double down to his earlier claims but also outlined the top stage of preparation HOV performs before getting into the booth to record a song in that kind of size.
“This is first and last time I’m gonna do this,” Young Guru wrote. “I would not care whether you accept my word that he performed the @djkhaled verse in just one go. Let’s get it straight for youngsters. A song that can be done in one go is an additional benefit to the talent level. The song is the thing that is crucial.
“You need to be aware of how much work has to be done before entering the booth. Questions such as ‘are those the correct words’ are you heading in the correct direction’, ‘is this the best way to go to follow?’ are all considered before recording. Then , you repeat the phrase over and over inside the control room to record the verse.”
He went on to say: “Does jay do EVERY song in one go? No. However, has he penned A number of verses in a single session? Absolutely! There is no reason for me to put a [Hat/cap] emoji on it! Take a look at the zooming-in on the right. There are no chops or breaks in the audio. The ‘I don’t believe it unless I can see it’ argument is completely foreign to me. Here is the proof. It doesn’t matter whether you were a believer or not. …..God did! !”
The candid pictures make up the tale Young Guru first started last month when he said that he listened to JAY-Z sing his four-minute track in one go through his own eyes during a listening session with GQ’s Frazier Thorpe, Rob Markman of Genius, and DJ Khaled.
But, on August 31, in a Twitter Spaces chat with MSNBC anchor Ari Melber, Rob Markman, DJ Khaled, and others, JAY-Z seemed to dismiss the validity of Young Guru’s claims in explaining why he believes that he was sloppy in his rendition of the track.
“So while we were waiting for you to send the beat, we were just playing the [loop] inside the control room; so I was going through it a couple of times,” JAY-Z started to DJ Khaled. “I was just rapping over like, any part, it kept looping and drops were happening in the wrong place.”
He later confessed: “So I cheated a couple of times before I went in the booth, I was playing it in the control room; so when I went in the booth it was pretty much a done deal.”
