Westside Gunn Teases Halloween Release For ‘Michelle Records’
Westside Gunn The singer has revealed more details about the mysterious MICHELLE RECORDS project. It looks like the fans can expect to hear it sometime in the Halloween season.
The Griselda Records founder made the announcement in an interview with Rolling Loud New York City the weekend before Although he did not reveal the details of the album was about but he did say a much more than fans have seen over the past couple of months.
When asked if he would give any information about this project Westside Gunn assured me that the project would be available in the next month.
“I don’t know, however, but Halloween is just around the corner,” Westside said. “That’s all I have to say. Halloween is the first time I’ve thought of it Halloween is coming.”
Westside Gunn initially teased the project named for his late aunt who passed away in the year 2021 in her sleepin February of this year by releasing two trailers that featured cameos from Fabolous, Dave East, Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher and Armani Caesar.
The excitement for fans grew to a new height the next month when Westside Gunn posted a video of his long-time collaborator and producer Conductor Williams performing an impromptu beat in the dome’s top. Gunn also posted a picture of A$AP Rocky coming to his studio in order to record “his singing for Michelle Records.”
In spite of all the teasers however, the fans were unable to determine whether MICHELLE RECORDS was a single, album or a new label, considering that Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher expanded with their own imprints, Drumwork Music Group and Black Soprano Family.
The Griselda Record Twitter account tweeted a message the previous Wednesday (September 28) that said MICHELLE RECORDS will be a full-length release and the release date was Halloween. The tweet also featured the cover art that was allegedly depicting the figure wearing the mask of a hockey goalie, like Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th film franchise.
If MICHELLE records turns out to be an album, it’ll be his seventh studio album . It is the follow-up to his previous release, Peace “Fly” God released on July 20, 2022. The album included Stove God Cooks, Estee Nack, Eastside Flip and more.
All the music-related content which has been produced by Westside Gunn in the past two years was released after he was tempted by the idea of retiring in 2020.
