Stephen Strasburg Admits Uncertain Future Amid Injury Concerns

Washington Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg doesn’t know when or if it will be in another major-league match.

The 34-year old is currently in the IL due to a stress reaction in his ribs. He has only made one start this season.

Strasburg stated that “I am aware the clock is ticking,” to Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post. “It’s been nearly three years since I was able to pitch competitively. It’s not as if I’m getting older.”

Stephen Strasburg threw 209 inning and was instrumental in the Nationals winning the 2019 World Series. Since signing a $70-million, seven-year contract in December 2019, Strasburg has struggled to stay sane, making only eight starts since 2020.
