Kanye West Sparks War With Gap Over Allegations Of Secret Meetings & Design Theft

Kanye West isn’t active on social media as often these days, however, the singer took a few minutes this week to slam Gap with some accusations directed at Gap.

On Tuesday (August 30), the G.O.O.D. The music founder expressed his frustration over the fact that the company did not inform him about a meeting in writing the following on Instagram: “Gap held a meeting without me?”

The next day, he contacted him with a photo of a text-message exchange where the company was accused of copying his designs.

“This is Gap copying YGEBB [Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga],” it stated. It also featured a picture of a model who was a kid wearing a Gap T-shirt. Kanye added an accompanying caption “But they canceled the photo shoot with my kids in Japan without me knowing.”

Kanye West didn’t quit from there, releasing a new video, this time featuring the video of him speaking to a group of people, possibly employees of the company.

He informs them that: “This is not celebrity marketing. This isn’t an alliance. This is a personal mission.” He also added his caption “The Vision will be fulfilled. Let’s begin with the stores at Atlanta.”

Kanye West cooperates with Gap from 2020

Kanye West partnered with Gap in the year 2020. The first Kanye West-branded Gap merchandise was released in 2021.

However, in Julyof this year, the business dismissed its CEO Sonia Syngal for “failing to generate meaningful results.” But, Kanye was still compelled to brag about the sales of Yeezy Gap and request an interview with Gap Executive Chairman Bob L. Martin.

“We sold 14 million dollars worth of the perfect black hoodie at 80 dollars a hoodie off of a television commercial that was ran one time,” He said at the time. “Bob I need to meet with you as soon as possible.”

Yet, Ye has also vocalized his anger with Gap, as well as in the drink Champs appearance earlier in the year. In his interview with DJ EFN, as well as N.O.R.E., he was not happy with the way the company introduced what’s been described as being “the perfect hoodie.”

“Ain’t nobody cares about the Gap until we went to the Gap, bro,” Ye stated when he was in that moment. “I removed that item. … even when they dropped the hoodies they made it appear similar to the Drake cover, but did not reveal it to me. The thing is, it was the different shades.”

In the past, he has justified his decision to sell the Yeezy Gap clothes out of “trash bags.”During an interview with Fox News, the actor was insistent in not apologizing for his mistake.

“Look, man, I’m an innovator and I’m not here to sit up and apologize about my ideas,” Kanye stated when asked about the negative reaction to the “trash bag” layout, which is thought by some to be “fetishizing” homeless people. This is exactly what the media is trying to accomplish by making us feel sorry for anything that isn’t what they would like our minds to be.”

Kardashian and Davidson have announced their split last month, after almost one year of being together. In the aftermath of their breakup, Kanye returned to Instagram with a post that was later deleted. It included a mock paper that read: “Skete Davidson Dead At 28.”
