Jay-z Releases Ari Melber’s ‘god Did’ Msnbc Breakdown On Tidal, Spotify & Apple Music

Jay-Z’s song of DJ Khaled’sGOD DID track resulted in a 12-minute break-down by MSNBC’s hip Hom-quoting anchor Ari Melber – and the song is now available through Hov’s official accounts on Apple Music, Spotify, and TIDAL.

The track that was released in the early hours of the 2nd of September (September 2.) in the form of “HOV DID” – is essentially a direct replay of Melber’s meticulously thorough analysis.

“As a journalist, I report on an interview many artists,” Melber stated to HipHopDX. “But having JAY-Z publish the report we wrote on his song as a track is the first time – and a great honor. JAY-Z sharing the report with his listeners enhances the meaning to the public domain, making a beat story into a sort of audio-guide to accompany his incredibly dense and profound lyrics about his life and the absurdity that is the battle over drugs.”

He went on to say, “And as Jay might say, he sampled my voice, and turned it to ‘a hot song.’ As for whether I was using my voice right, that’s for others to decide.”

Jay-Z briefly spoke with Melber during an Twitter Spaces conversation last week that Melber Cornell Law School grad tweeted about. Also, he changed his handle on Twitter from “The Reporter” to “The Reporter” after Jay initially addressed him in that manner in his tweet that thanked LeBron James for his love on the lyrics.

“NEW: Jay-Z on The Beat’s report about his poem/verse: ‘Ari, that was an amazing piece,'” the rapper wrote. “‘When you break the poem in this way, everyone feels seen…I received calls from everyone We all needed that immediately. …'”

James who is an affiliate of Roc Nation affiliate posted the video clip of Melber’s lengthy explanation in “GOD DID” on August 31, and wrote in the caption, “Listen! Listen again and confirm that you have understood the meaning. HOV DID !!!!!! The reporter too! [GOAT] TALK.”

James’s words caught JAY-Z’s interest and a few moments later, he said “My only goal is to make the real ‘ones’ feel seen, forgive me that’s my passion talking … haa.”

JAY-Z was referring to an interview with Louis Farrakhan and CBS reporter Mike Wallace, which was included in Melber’s account. The conversation was briefly halted when Melber said that the sixty Minutes anchor stated that Nigeria could be to be the world’s most “corrupt” nation in the world.

“You’re not in any moral position to tell anybody how corrupt they are,” Farrakhan said to Wallace at the moment. “You should be quiet when you have spilled the blood of human beings.”

He added, “Has Nigeria dropped a nuclear bomb that caused the death of people at Hiroshima as well as Nagasaki? Did they kill hundreds of millions of Native Americans? You shouldn’t put yourself in that role as an impartial moral judge! I believe you should remain the peace.”

Wallace asked Wallace “Can you think of one more corrupt?” to Farrakhan’s response, “Yeah, I’m living in one. I’m living in one. […] I didn’t intend to be that excited. It’s my thing.”

The interview was a part of JAY-Z’s well-loved, four-minute lyric. He raps “Next time we have a discussion who the G.O.A.T., you donkeys know this/Forgive me, that’s my passion talkin’ (Haha)/Sometimes I feel like Farrakhan (Haha) talkin’ to Mike Wallace (Haha)/I think y’all should keep quiet.”

Melber is confident that this is the first time. He said, “Someone in the music biz told me they’ve never seen an artist re-release an outside segment/analysis as a track, and most artists wouldn’t think to do it or would be afraid of reaction, but Jay moves differently.”
