Blackpink ‘Shut Down’ Their Doubters With Hip-hop-infused Single Celebrating ‘Born Pink’
The Blackpink’s Birth Pink is available. The K-pop girls bandcomprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa released their second album, the group Blackpink posted the music video to the hip-hop-influenced track “Shut Down.”
With the sound of strings and a pounding bass the Blackpink queens Blackpink make a statement to their critics, their haters, and paparazzi. in the song’s chorus, they say: “When we pull up you know it’s a shut-down,” and the hook says “Whip it whip it whip it whip it / Keep watching me shut it down.”
The lyrics alternate in English and Korean while the singers are heard repeating the “Blackpink in your area” tune’s slogan throughout. “Praying for my downfall, many have tried, baby.”
The group released a teaser of the video, showing a 23-second video of the video’s music with a violin playing. “Keep watching me shut it down,” the voice ring to close the video.
The group in July revealed that they were in the ” final stages” of recording Born Pink, which is their first studio release. Then, this week, they announced the tracklist, which included Jisoo and Rose being named the writers of the song “Yeah Yeah Yeah.”
“We don’t just receive a completed song,” Jisoo revealed to Rolling Stone in the magazine’s May issue. “We are involved from the beginning, building the blocks, adding this or that feeling, exchanging feedback — and this process of creating makes me feel proud of our music.”
