Steve Lacy Has Been In The Studio With Kanye West, Speaks On Matching Tattoos

Steve Lacy has announced his involvement in working along with Kanye West but fans looking for a Ye or Lacy project will need to wait for a while.

TMZ talked to singer “Bad Habits” singer at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday (August 16) and, when asked if he’d worked working with Ye the singer said: “Always, he never stops.”

Then he was asked if the pair had an album planned. “Nah I mean we just got a friendship,” Steve Lacy stated. “But I’m around, he’s making stuff around me constantly.”

However, The Gemini Rights crooner explained the significance behind the two’s identical “We Here Forever Technically” tattoos they received at the left side of their biceps with Lil Uzi Vert. The new ink’s philosophical meaning is: “We’re artists, we never die, technically.”

The ink was drawn by a tattoo artist from Los Angeles Mez Afram who was also featured in the viral image from September 9.

Although a Steve Lacy and Kanye West collaboration might not be being planned, Lacy’s sophomore album Gemini Rights is loved by his followers. It was released at No. 7 on. Billboard 200 with 34,000 first-week units. His hit single “Bad Habit” just debuted at No. 6, on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

In an interview in the magazine GQ, Steve Lacy talked about how his most recent work was a breakthrough in his work as a result of being in a position to move from his laptop into an actual studio.

“Part of it was deleting old processes, and trying out new shit,” the artist explained to The magazine. “Other people could provide me with textures that I was unable to create for myself. In the beginning, I was hoping to bring more people to my team, because I was not sure what I should make myself. However, the more I began to work together and collaborate, the more I began to think, “Oh yes, I do have it. I have it.”

Kanye has been Steve Lacy’s strongest fan throughout his career and also gave the artist the utmost praise after Gemini Rightsdropped last month.

“Album is beautiful,” Ye – who is a fellow Gemini commenting on Lacy’s album’s announcement. “One of the most inspiring people on the planet.”
