Nicki Minaj Claims Drake Is Hiding His Billionaire Status

Nicki Minaj just made a startling assertion regarding the wealth of her “extremely affluent” friend Drake.

At the Young Money reunion this weekend in Toronto, the NYC rapper performed alongside Drake and Lil Wayne. On Tuesday, August 9, Nicki posted a video of herself getting on a plane, likely to return from the event, via Drake, on her Instagram Stories. Nicki Minaj claims that her “billionaire” Canadian pal made everything right for her.

“Look. This is what happens when you got rich,” she began before quickly correcting herself. “I’m sorry, a very rich, a very rich, rich, rich, rich, Canadian friend who’s the only billionaire that I know that don’t want people to know he’s a billionaire. I get it, but…” she added but then trailed off.

Drake is on the list of high-earning artists

While Champagne Papi’s exact net worth is uncertain, earlier this year, he laughed off his placement on a Hip-Hop rich list. Former Forbes Senior Editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg released his rankings of the highest-paid Hip Hop artists for 2021, listing Drake in fourth place with earnings of $50 million. In response, Drake added a single laughing emoji, suggesting he may have earned a lot more.

Drake’s lighthearted response speaks to the fact that, while money is important, it isn’t everything. For Drake, it seems that his music and his relationships are what matter most. This focus on the things that truly matter is what has made Drake one of the most successful and popular rappers in the world. Money may be important, but it doesn’t buy happiness – something that Champagne Papi clearly understands.

Drake and Nicki Minaj’s relationship appears to be as strong as ever. Nicki recently posted a snap of her boarding a jet, with Drake’s mother, Sandi Graham, referring to her as “my ex-mom-in-law.” Drake laughs in the background as Nicki jokes, “tell your son don’t speak to me no more.” The pair then carried on the banter in the comments section. Drake wrote, “Barbz I’m gagging,” adding, “It’s the everything for meeeeee…” Nicki Minaj gently teased him in response, writing, “You still didn’t even say it right. Bye MR. CHAMPAGNE,” she wrote. It’s clear that despite the jokey nature of their conversation, Drake and Nicki are on good terms and appear to have a strong relationship.
