Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Method Man & More Headline High Hopes Concert Series
Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Method Man, and Redman are only some of the rap icons scheduled to perform at the upcoming High Hopes Concert Series in Ontario, California.
The lineup for the 420-friendly event was announced this Thursday (August 19). And will feature additional appearances by Bone Thugs-N’Harmony, Berner, Xzibit, and Warren G & Tha Dogg Pound This signifies that Kurupt along with Daz Dillinger will perform on the stage.
The massive festival will take place on the Saturday of November 19. At Ontario’s Toyota Arena, and will be hosted by the bizarre Cypress Hill character named Dr. Greenthumb, (aka B Real wearing false teeth as well as a creepy uniform of a surgeon).
Ice Cube has been dominating stages throughout the summer. And was recently at LL COOL J’s first Rock The Bells festival in August. He was there with other rap royalty such as Lil Kim, The Diplomats, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Scarface, Trina, Digable Planets, and many more.
The West Coast rap veteran had many things to say in May regarding his group’s lackluster Verzuz against Onyx and expressed his displeasure with the site’s requirement that people pay for access to the match.
“I have to say although it was great to rock with our brothers @ONYX_HQ in the Verzuz battle, I feel like [Verzuz] shorted us all by not running it on IG live like other battles,” the legendary MC tweeted. “They have made it a ppl event and made the battle as a show in conjunction with the boxing contest instead. IMO.”
DJ Skee echoed B-Real’s sentiments and claimed he was not aware of a verzuz fight between legends occurring.
“Both groups are iconic and unfortunately no on even knew this was happening,” the writer wrote. “I would have watched if I knew.”
Method Man, as well as Redman, have also entered The Verzuz arena in 2021. And even though they’ve always been well-known as a natural match the famous pair revealed to that HipHopDX that this didn’t always be the situation.
“We used get into little … not fights … ’cause we never argued, but he would try and give me little jewels here and there like, ‘Look, son, you ain’t gotta do all that shit,” Method Man said in 2018. “You simply are abandoning us in that manner. We’re stuck.’
“And it didn’t even stay in my head until one day I said, ‘Fuck it! I’m on stage. I’m just trying to see how this thing plays out.”I started watching them during one show and then began imitating the majority of what the actor was performing. Then, it all became a part of me. It was pure chemical chemistry.”
Redman said, “I remember we went through that discussion. And the sole reason I mentioned that is that you sometimes thought you weren’t getting enough, and I wanted to inform you that You’re on stage, brother thanks to your presence. It’s not necessary to reach.”
