Cardi B Gets First to Face Tattoo Days After Drake’s New Ink
Cardi B is getting her first tattoo on her face after considering since January if she should have it tattooed or not.
In the past week, footage of Tattoo artist Robinson De Los Santos and hairstylist Luis Santana showed the leader of the Bardi Gang getting a new red tattoo along her lower jawline on her left.
Another photo surfaced on an account on a fan site that shows Cardi standing alongside De Los Santos after the performance. The rapper isn’t sharing the finished product on her Instagram or other social networks at the time of publication.
The latest set of ink comes a few months after Cardi B made it clear that she was planning to get an oblique tattoo in honor the son she has. She considered it and then told her fans she was extremely close to having the job completed.
“Random but… I’m just 1% away from the name of my son in my face.” the tweet reads. “I really really wanna do it!”
A few fans were furious over Cardi wanting a face tattoo and found an old tweet from her saying she was glad she did not jump the gun as a teenager.
“Every day I’m thankful at the fact that ain’t get this face tatt I wanted when I was 16,” she wrote in the year 2000.
Cardi’s recent change of heart is her joining a circle of rappers who have face tattoos and members like Lil Wayne, Post Malone, DaBaby, Young Thug, and a myriad of others, and even the three members of Migos.
Drake recently joined the cast
Drake has recently joined our bandwagon as the tattoo he received bears his mom’s initials (SG) beneath his right eye. He was 6 God went on Instagram to share the tattoo and confirm that the initials are for his mom, Sandra Graham, in the caption for his post.
While this is happening, Cardi B is getting ready for her upcoming 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. This year, Cardi is nominated for four awards, including two popular singles she performed earlier this year.
Her three-piece collaboration featuring SZA as well as Summer Walker, “No Love,” has been nominated for Best R&B as well as Best Dance “Wild Side,” her joint single with Normani received the award for the exact same award along with Best Cinematography as well as Best choreography. She’s in a tie with Baby Keem and Future with four nominations each.
Kendrick Lamar Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X lead the pack of performers with 7 nominations then Doja Cat, who received six nominations along with Drake, and the Weeknd are both up for five Moonman awards.
The MTV VMAs 2022 will take in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday, 28 August. The ceremony will be broadcast in real-time on MTV as well as on the CW Network from 8 p.m. ET.
